My Amazon numbers aren't matching my Zoof numbers. Why is that?

This article helps explain the various reason your sales, advertising and costs in Zoof might not match exactly to Amazon

There are several reasons why you might notice discrepancies between the numbers on your Zoof Profit Dashboard and what's reported in your Amazon Seller Account, particularly regarding advertising data and profit calculations:

  1. Time Zone Differences:

    1. Cause: Zoof and Amazon servers operate on different times. This time difference can cause data transactions received from Amazon to be logged with a date discrepancy—a day before or after the actual transaction date in Zoof.

    2. Effect: This leads to minor discrepancies in daily data. However, these typically even out when viewed over a longer period.

  2. Advertising Charges Reporting:

    1. Cause: Zoof updates your advertising costs in near real-time, attributing these costs to product sales as they happen. Amazon, on the other hand, accumulates these costs and charges your account only once they reach a certain threshold (e.g., $50, $100, $500).

    2. Effect: This method can result in sporadic, large charges appearing on Amazon on specific days, whereas Zoof shows these costs more gradually. It might appear as if there’s a surge in advertising costs on a particular day in Amazon’s reports, which is simply the accumulated charges being billed.

  3. Fee Calculations and Adjustments:

    1. Cause: Zoof must estimate certain fees, such as referral and FBA fees, based on product dimensions and category immediately after a sale is made, because Amazon does not provide the exact charges until the product has shipped—which can take from a day to several weeks.

    2. Effect: As a result, the initial fee calculations made by Zoof might differ from the final fees charged by Amazon. Once the actual fees are known, Zoof adjusts the profit dashboard to reflect these fees accurately. Discrepancies may also be compounded when orders include multiple products or when promotions, coupons, or discounts are applied that Amazon does not immediately disclose.
